Police again warned parents Tuesday to be on high-alert following the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl in Berks County.

Police said a Hispanic man, standing approximately six-feet tall and driving a Black SUV with tinted windows, tried to abduct the girl near Belmont Avenue and Wilson Street in Spring Township on Monday afternoon.

Police said the man's description is similar to those reported in recent attempted abductions in Berks County.

"He's gone to Millmont, to Reading School District, to Wyomissing School District, and he's not giving up," said Jessica Landis, a concerned resident.

Investigators said the girl had to kick the man and scream in order to get away. As soon as she could, they said she called police on her cell phone.

"How concerned am I? I'm obviously concerned because it involves the safety of children," said Chief Bryan Ross, Spring Township Police Department. "We're going to do what we can do put an end to these occurrences."

If you have any information that can help police, you're urged to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
