A search is underway for the man who robbed a bank in northeastern Lancaster County on Monday.
The holdup happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Ephrata National Bank branch at Route 322 and North Railroad Avenue in Earl Township, about halfway between New Holland and Ephrata.
The robber handed a teller a note demanding cash and then took off, said police, who declined to disclose the amount of money he got.
No weapon was shown.
The robber is described as a white man in his early 40s with dark hair and small build. He stands between five feet, five inches and five feet, nine inches tall. He was wearing a checkered shirt, dark pants, a knit hat and colored tinted sunglasses, police said.
The robber was last seen running across Route 322 and getting into a dark-green, four-door vehicle, possibly a Volkswagen, and driving north on Wanner Road, police said.
Anyone with information about the holdup is asked to call New Holland police at 717-354-4647.
