A Montgomery County bus driver is facing charges after police say he attacked a special needs student Friday afternoon.
According to court documents, 67-year-old Terry Lee Stoudt of 37 Gravel Pike in Red Hill, was driving a van transporting people with special needs.
The victim -- a 13-year-old boy with Asperger's syndrome, bipolar disorder and other disabilities -- got off the van after an argument with Stoudt.
The boy told police he ran from the van and a short distance later he was on the ground with Stoudt on top of him. Stoudt punched him several times in the chest, the boy said.
He was taken to Lansdale Hospital by his father, and medical personnel found abrasions to his armpit, abdomen and chest, as well as several contusions, the court documents say.
The incident happened at 1001 Valley Forge Road at Brittany Pointe Estates in Upper Gwynedd Township around 3:30 p.m.
Two security guards at the complex told police they saw the boy running onto the property, then seeing Stoudt punching the boy, police said.
It's not clear what school the teen attended.
Stoudt was charged with unlawful restraint, neglect of care of dependent person, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and related offenses.
Stoudt was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
