Police in Northampton County are looking for the driver of a car that hit a 10-year-old girl Friday morning, then fled the scene.
Northampton Borough police said the girl was walking to school around 8:30 a.m. when she crossed Main Street between 9th and 10th streets, and was struck by the car.
She was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County. Her condition in not known.
Witnesses said the car was a Volkswagon, possibly a Jetta, that would have front end damage to its headlights and/or turn signal.
The driver was a female with red or blond hair.
