If you're looking for an activity with the kids on Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Monday, how about a free movie with a message?

In honor of the holiday, ArtsQuest in Bethlehem is offering free screenings to the movie, "Selma" for students 17 and younger on Monday, Jan. 19.

The movie will be shown at SteelStacks' Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas at 12:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The film is a 2015 Academy Award nominee for Best Picture and Best Song for "Glory," and chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965 when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led a campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition.

The epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Ala., culminated in President Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the nation’s civil rights movement.

Rated PG-13, the movie stars David Oyelowo, Carmen Ejogo and Tom Wilkinson and is directed by Ava DuVernay.

Tickets for the three screenings are available at the ArtsQuest Center box office on Monday.

There is a limit of four tickets per person.

On Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., there will be a special screening of "Selma," featuring a talkback led by Bob Kilker, a Kutztown University English professor who specializes in American Genre Film, Culture and Media.
