Former Philly sportscaster Don Tollefson is changing his tune.
He initially pleaded guilty to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars meant for charity.
But Monday he was back in court where he withdrew that plea.
"This is a case that should have remained in my estimation in civil court," said Tollefson.
Tollefson says he's innocent.
Tollefson is charged with selling around $341,000 worth sporting event tickets to more than 200 people at charity events and pocketing the money.
Tollefson says he's been battling addiction and is now in treatment and house arrest in Philly.
Tollefson pleaded guilty in September.
But withdrew his plea and will represent himself at trial because he says there's new evidence.
His former attorney says Tollefson told him he was going to represent himself last week.
"I didn't think it was a wise decision at all," said former Tollefson attorney Sharif N. Abaza.
The Bucks County District Attorney's office says it has no problem with Tollefson defending himself.
"Justice delayed in this case is not justice denied we are going to meet this challenge on January 5th and I think either a judge or a jury is going to get it right," said Bucks County Chief Prosecutor Matt Weintraub.
The judge in the case advised Tollefson to file a motion if he wants to have a court appointed attorney to assist him during his January 5th trial.
Tollefson says he made the self representation decision after a lot of prayer.
"I am well aware of the fact that the legal community always says that self representation is a bad idea," said Tollefson.
Tollefson says he's trying to sell his sports memorabilia online to pay restitution to his victims.
Several were in court but reserved comment.
