State Police investigate death of 1-year-old girl in Schuylkill County

The Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating the death of a 1-year-old girl in Schuylkill County.

Police said the baby died around 10 p.m. Saturday in the unit block of West Centre Street.

According to a news release from state police, multiple agencies are joining state police in the investigation, including the Schuylkill County Detective's Office, Ashland police, and the Schuylkill County Children & Youth Services Office.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

At this point, police are not providing any further information.
