$12,000 in cash, handgun stolen from Carbon County home

Police in Carbon County are trying to track down whoever is responsible for stealing $12,000 in cash, a handgun and several items from a Franklin Township home.

State Police said they responded to the unit block of East 3rd Street on Saturday for a report of a home burglary.

After further investigation, police said it was determined the burglary happened sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22.

One or more persons entered the home through a living room window and stole a lock box from under a bed that contained $12,000 in cash, 22-caliber handgun, Social Security cards, birth certificates and deed to the house.
