Multiple companies respond to 3-alarm house fire in Carbon County

Several companies responded to a fire at a home in Carbon County on Tuesday morning.

The blaze broke out around 10 a.m. at 45 Fuzzy Lane in Lower Towamensing Township.

It went to three alarms as crews on the scene requested the response of additional manpower.

Fire officials said it appears the fire started in the kitchen near the stove, and it was accidental.

The inside of the home was gutted, officials said, and damages are estimated at $50,000.

A dog and cat died in the fire, but another dog got out safely.

No residents or firefighters were hurt.

The Red Cross is assisting a family of three affected by the fire.
