A Berks County teenager accused of attempted homicide, has been extradited back to Northampton County from Florida.

Bethlehem Police Chief Mark DiLuzio said 18-year-old Leah Cadwallader of Lehnartsville arrived in Bethlehem early Wednesday to face criminal conspiracy to commit homicide and criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault in connection with the June 15 shooting of 19-year-old Anthony Berliner in Bethlehem.

Police said Berliner was shot in the chest at Pfeiffle and Atlantic streets in the Yosko Park area of Bethlehem.

He was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in serious condition. There's no word on his current condition.

A Bethlehem police detective interviewed Cadwallader and her boyfriend, 19-year-old Evan Castellanos over the phone after the shooting and both said they were in New York City area at the time of the shooting.

Detectives found evidence, including cell phone records, GPS mappings and store receipts, that placed the two in the Lehigh Valley at the time of the shooting.

After the investigation stalled, Bethlehem police Det. Sean Molony took it before the sitting Northampton County investigating grand jury.

The grand jury identified Castellanos, a suspected drug dealer, and Cadwallader as the individuals responsible for the shooting, and arrest warrants were issued for the pair.

Molony, who had been tracking them, located them in Florida. They were arrested by detectives from the Kissimmee Police Department on November 23.

Cadwallader was arraigned Wednesday morning and was sent to the Northampton County Prison under $5 million cash bail.

Castellanos, of Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, is in a Florida prison, DiLuzio said, and no date has been set for his extradition.
