Firefighters battle blaze in Penn

Firefighters are battling an intense fire in Berks County.

They got the call shortly after 2 p.m. Friday to respond to 5097 Bernville Rd. (Route 183) in Penn Township for a reported mobile home on fire.

Photos from the scene show a building completely engulfed in flames, with the fire sending thick plumes of black smoke high into the air.

Emergency dispatchers said the scene is behind Rics Marine.

Route 183 is closed between Plum Creek and Hill roads.
