A trio of Big Ticket area teams looked to punch their tickets to the state finals on Saturday. But Wilson WL, Pennsbury and Wyomissing all saw their seasons come to an end instead.

In Altoona, Wilson could not hold onto a 10-point 4th quarter lead, falling to Pine-Richland, 28-17, in the PIAA-AAAA semifinals.

The District 3 champion Bulldogs finish the season at 14-1, capturing their 7th straight L-L Section I crown in the process.

In Philadelphia, St. Joseph's Prep got on Pennsbury early and never looked by in a 37-7 win over the District I champion Falcons.

St. Joe's will meet Pine-Richland for the PIAA-AAAA title in Hershey next weekend.

In Slatington, Wyomissing also allowed a late lead to slip away in a tight 23-21 loss to Dunmore.

The District 3 champion Spartans finished 13-2 on the season.
