The Phillipsburg football team captured the NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 title in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Rutgers. The Stateliners topped Colonia, 28-21, to finish the year with wins in the state final and over Easton.
The win is the second straight sectional title for P-Burg.
Anthony Guarino's 1-yard touchdown run in overtime gave the Stateliners the lead. The defense shut down Colonia on the ensuing possession.
Phillipsburg finishes the season at 11-1.
