A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly stealing a medical service dog from outside a CVS store on Northampton street in Wilson Borough the day before.

Raul Marin will be charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking and Receiving Stolen Property.

Police say Marin walked into the CVS store at around 5pm on Friday and then walked away with a brown medical service pitbull that was wearing a beige harness with a blue and white leash.

According to authorities, the dog belonged to 52-year-old Easton resident Helene Harris. Harris says she tied her dog to a sign in front of the CVS Pharmacy.

She quickly went inside and when she came out, he was gone.

On Friday, Police were able to identify the suspect through surveillance video .

On Saturday morning, the Manager at CVS Pharmacy called the Wilson Police to tell them that a person matching the description of the suspect from yesterday's dog theft was back in the store. By the time Police arrived at the store, the man had left.

Officers searched the area and were able to locate Marin on the 1500 block of Ferry St. When Police inquired, he denied any involvement in the theft of the dog and was released, according to police.

Police then went to his home address. There, a woman answered the door and the pitbull was right by her side. The dog was unharmed. Harris was able to identify that this was in fact her dog.

The dog has now been returned to its owner. Marin is now in custody.
