According to authorities, a former Lehigh County man shot and killed his neighbor, then drove the dead body to his attorney's Ft.Meyers, Florida-based office.
"I kind of went into shock a little bit," said attorney Robert Harris. "I got my wits about me and called 911."
After Harris called 911, John Marshall, formerly of Salisbury Township now living in Florida, told him all about the property dispute he had with his neighbor, that took a deadly turn.
"Mr.Marshall was out at his property," said Harris. "This man approached him, and brought out a gun and hit Mr. Marshall in the face with it hard enough to knock out a tooth… It was then a struggle for their lives."
According to Harris, Marshall then hot and killed Ft. Meyers area resident Ted Hubbell. Harris says Marshall acted in self defense.
Harris says Marshall and his neighbor Hubbell had ongoing issues. Marshall had allegedly called police a few days earlier to let them know Hubbell had threatened his life. A police report was filed.
The main issue at hand, Harris says Hubbell did not approve of Marshall building on a piece of property nearby.
"There are tortoises living on the property and they are an endangered species, I guess. It got him upset," said Harris.
Neighbors describe Hubbell as a peace-loving Buddhist and protector of the environment..Many in the Florida community say they can't imagine Hubbell
turning violent.
Marshall was treated for injuries and has been released. He has not been charged.
