Lafayette men edge Lehigh for season split

The Lafayette men's basketball team pulled out a 63-61 victory over rival Lehigh at Stabler Arena on Sunday. The rivals split the regular season series.


Lehigh had two chances to tie the game with less than 10 seconds left, but both jumpers were off the mark.


Seth Hinrichs led the Leopards with 16 points and Dan Trist added another 14 to go along with 10 rebounds.


Tim Kempton posted his 12th double-double of the year with 13 points and 12 boards. Kahron Ross dished in 13 points and 8 assists.


Lafayette improves to 16-11 and 8-8 in the Patriot League. Lehigh falls to 15-12 overall and 9-7 in the conference. The Mountain Hawks remain in sole possession of third place in the league standings with two games remaining. The Leopards are in a tie for fourth with as many games left.


Both teams are in contention for a home game in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League playoffs heading into the final week of the season.
