The Reading boys and Conrad Weiser girls basketball teams won District III Quarterfinal showdowns on Saturday, earning a spot at the Giant Center next week in the semifinals.

The Reading boys rallied for a 56-50 win over McCaskey in Shillington in the AAAA quarterfinals. Lonnie Walker paced the Red Knights with 17 points. But the sophomore star was ejected late in the game along with the McCaskey bench.

Walker will not be available for the team's semifinal showdown with Cedar Crest on Tuesday.

In the fourth meeting between the two teams, the Conrad Weiser girls knocked off Berks Catholic, 49-39. Weiser will play an opponent to be determined in the AAA semis on Wednesday.

The Scouts led by 3 at half and didn't look back in the 2nd. Hannah Racis led the way with 19 points for Weiser with Kennedy Lutz pouring in 9.

Xio Toledo paced the Saints with 15 points.

Elsewhere in District 3, the Antietam boys' season ended at Trinity in an 89-51 defeat in the AA quarterfinals.
