The parents of some Allentown elementary students are learning what happens next... after a fire shut down their children's school.>> rob vaughn: The district says Cleveland Elementary students will go back to school Friday...just not their school. >> wendy davis: WFMZ's Meghan Packer joins us now with more on what is no doubt.. going to be a big undertaking...Meghan?>> Parents learned tonight where their kids will go to school for now... and not everyone is happy with the plan.>>NATS "How would ya'll been able to explain it if our children were in that school and some kids got hurt in that school?" >>reporter Some parents are demanding answers ...even as they get others from the Allentown School District. >>dr mayo "Our goal certainly was to get us back in school as quickly as possible.">>REPORTER Parents now know where their kids will go to school after Cleveland Elementary caught fire Tuesday. First through third grades will attend Mosser Elementary... and fourth and fifth graders will go to Roosevelt Elementary. The district is providing transportation. >>dr mayo "There actually will be doubling up, there will be spaces used like central spaces in auditoriums, gymnasiums.">>REPORTER Superintendent Russ Mayo says the temporary situation could last eight weeks. >>dr mayo "We understand this is a hardship and terrible inconvenience but we of course have no control over it." >>yahaira "i am very confused by it all, i don't know how smoothly this transition is going to go for the next eight weeks.">>REPORTER The plan was met with mixed reaction...as families now have to plan for the new routine.>>AKILAH "I'm really pleased with the efforts that they're making, i was surprised to see that they had it set up so fast." >>milagros "The reason why I'm not happy is that there are other schools closer in the vicinity.">>DR mayo "Roosevelt and Mosser were the two that we could identify that could possibly make some adjustments.">>REPORTER The superintendent says Tuesday's fire...that started in a second floor teacher preparation room...was not related to a gas leak Monday. Fire officials say the fire was accidental and likely caused by an electrical problem. >> The school district will seek a waiver from the state...so students do not need to make up these missed days.
