The Bloomsbury Rescue Squad is shutting down.
Lisa Burd Reindel, administrator of Bloomsbury, said borough officials were not notified of the squad's decision to go out of business.
On Tuesday, Hunterdon County Communications received an email from squad chief Jim Anderson that the squad would cease operations on March 5.
There still has been zero communication between the borough and the squad, said Reindel, who noted she found out from the county communications center.
Calls to the ambulance squad for an explanation about why it is going out of business have not been returned.
With the squad shutting down, Bloomsbury has partnered with Pattenburg Rescue Squad to provide emergency services.
They are still in discussions to determine a long-term plan.
