One man is behind bars and another is being sought in the armed invasion of a home in Berks County.

It all began with a knock on the door of the home in the 600 block of North 25th Street in Lower Alsace Township early Thursday morning, according to Central Berks Regional police, who were dispatched to the scene at 12:44 a.m.

When the 23-year-old man opened the door, two black men wearing black bandannas forced their way inside, said police, adding that one of the intruders held a handgun to the victim's stomach while the other bound him with duct tape.

The intruders told the victim they wanted his Xbox video game console, which they took, along with numerous games and accessories, a laptop computer and other items, police said.

The intruders then ordered the victim to get underneath the dining room table and stay there for one hour, police said.

As both men fled the home in a vehicle, the uninjured victim sought help from his father, who was asleep in the home and unaware of what had happened, according to police.

During the course of their investigation, police said they identified Dominique Dexter Lane as a suspect in the home invasion.

Officers, armed with a search warrant, then responded to Lane's home in the 1100 block of Scott Street in Reading, where they recovered the handgun used in the crime and all of the victim's stolen items, except for the laptop computer, police said.

Lane was charged with robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, firearms not to be carried without a license, unlawful restraint, possessing an instrument of a crime, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, simple assault, false imprisonment, and recklessly endangering another person. He was committed to the Berks County Jail on $100,000 bail.

The second intruder has not been identified. Anyone with information that can help police with their investigation is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
