At the PPL Center, Lehigh Valley topped Norfolk in a shootout, 3-2, to get back on track following a loss at Hershey.
Adam Comrie, who has just been recalled from Reading earlier in the day, scored on Lehigh Valley's eighth attempt in the skills competition.
Martin Ouellette stopped all eight of the Admirals' attempts.
Nick Cousins and Jason Akeson scored the goals for the Phantoms in their final home game of 2014.
At the Santander Arena, the Royals won their fifth straight game with a 4-3 win over the Elmira Jackals.
Jordan Heywood netted a pair of goals for the Royals. Olivier Labelle added the other.
Reading will host Elmira Wednesday in the final home game of 2014.
