Two people have been identified as suspects in the theft of Reading Mayor Vaughn Spencer's car.

Angel Torres-Rosado and Eliezer Tirado-Ramos, both of Lebanon, are being sought on charges that include conspiracy-theft by unlawful taking and conspiracy-receiving stolen property.

Both men, police said, played a role in stealing Spencer's car from where it was parked in the 700 block of North 13th Street, near the mayor's home, on Sept. 25.

Video captured by city and Reading High School surveillance cameras show Torres-Rosado getting behind the wheel of the black 2001 Honda S2000 and Tirado-Ramos and another man pushing the car west on Douglass Street, according to court documents.

The car has not been recovered.

The third suspect, police said, is cooperating with the ongoing investigation and has not been charged.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Torres-Rosado or Tirado-Ramos is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
