Gov. Mifflin, Wilson WL cruise in opening league duals

The Governor Mifflin and Wilson wrestling teams picked up wins in their opening duals within Berks County on Wednesday night.

In Birdsboro, the Mustangs topped Daniel Boone 63-12. Governor Mifflin enters the season as one of the top contenders within Berks County, led by defending state champion Jan Johnson.

In Spring Township, Wilson overcame an early deficit to defeat Twin Valley 54-27.

The Bulldogs were down 12-0 after the first two bouts, but they registered 6 straight pins after that to record the win. Wilson is the 3-time defending county champion and will figure into the title race once again.
