Have you fueled up lately?

Many people are getting a pleasant surprise at the pump as prices continue to fall.

At the 7 - 11, off Route 22, in Phillipsburg, Warren County, New Jersey.

Getting gas is not something some drivers dread anymore.

"I'm only putting 10 in, just now, where I usually put in 20," said Phillipsburg resident, Rich Rotella.

The lower gas prices are all about supply and demand.

Currently some financial experts say demand is low worldwide, but oil production remains the same as it was during conflicts in the Middle East.

"I feel like they are going to be going down for a little while but I'm not holding my breath they are going to stay down," added Keenan Burd as he fueled up on his way to Utah.

According to the US Energy Department, gas prices may continue to drop and households are expected to save more than $550.00 over the next year.

Some drivers in Jersey have already been seeing benefits.

"We've been able to travel more," said Rotella. "We went out west a couple of times already. Christmas was better, it definitely helps the money in our pocket."

The price of oil dropped once again on Wall Street Friday afternoon.

And $60.00 a barrel is the lowest in the US since May of 2009.

Leaving some drivers wondering how low will prices go at the pump.

Others think we need to take advantage now because soon these prices may be a memory.

"Obviously they are lower right now, but I feel like they are going to go back up again," said Hurd.
