Daniel Boone, Wyomissing girls tally early wins

The Daniel Boone and Wyomissing girls basketball teams recorded non-league wins on Thursday night. Berks play begins next week for most teams.

In Birdsboro, Daniel Boone (2-1) pulled away from Twin Valley, 54-32, in a Berks cross-over game.

Steph Sievers led the way for the Blazers with 13 points. Kaitlyn Keeley added another 10.

The Raiders' (1-2) Taylor Knorr paced all scorers with 20 points on the night.

At Wyomissing, the Spartans held off Pottsgrove, 45-36, in a Berks/PAC-10 meeting.

Wyo (2-1) was led by 13 points from Myra Owens and 10 from Elke Cacchione.

The Spartans held the Falcons (0-4) to just 6 points in the final quarter.
