Candlelight vigil planned for slain Robesonia woman

A young Robesonia woman is being remembered one year after her brutal murder.

Friends, family members and supporters of Ashley Kline will gather for a candlelight vigil with song and prayer at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

"It's just a great way to honor her," said Samantha Moyer, who planned the event.

Kline, 23, was stabbed to death and set on fire Dec. 30, 2013, by two men, Adam Lynch, 21, of Reading, and Ryan Schannauer, 20, of Spring Township. The two pleaded guilty earlier this month and were sentenced to life in prison.

"It wrecked me when I heard it could be her body. I didn't want to hear it, but I did. Being a close friend, it was hard," said Moyer.

Moyer told 69 News that she and Kline had been close friends since the fifth grade. She described the woman as a "very loving, caring person, [who] did everything for anybody."

In return, Moyer needed to do something to help remember her friend.

The vigil will be held at a parking lot in the unit block of West Penn Avenue in Robesonia. She said the family's minister will be there to pray, and Kline's aunt has agreed to sing several songs.

"Anybody can come out. You don't have to know her. Just come out and support," said Brad Angelisanti, Moyer's boyfriend.

The couple will be taking their five-month-old baby girl, named Ashlynn in honor of Kline, to the ceremony.

"I wish [Ashlynn] could meet her, but one day she will," she said. "We'll all get to meet her and have a big party up in Heaven one day."
