The Hoop Group showcase once again provided an entertaining evening of basketball at Reading High's Geigle Complex. The double-header included two premier contests featuring Berks powerhouses Berks Catholic and Reading.
In the opening game, Berks Catholic went toe-to-toe with Chester. The game went down to the wire with the Clippers eventually prevailing, 69-62.
Connor Jack led the Saints (1-3) with 20 points. Marquis Collins led Chester with 17 points while Khaleeq Campbell had 15.
In the nightcap, Penn Wood defeated the host Red Knights, 65-62. Reading had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but could not get a shot to fall.
Penn Wood's Addison Scott led all scorers with 30 points. Reading (3-1) sophomore sensation Lonnie Walker was close behind with 29.
