NASA and the Reading-Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center have formed a partnership that is giving students an out of this world opportunity.
The students are machining parts for use by astronauts on the International Space Station, according to Pa. Rep. Mark Rozzi.
John Keck, the liaison between NASA and the CTC, will visit the school next Tuesday to get a first-hand look at the students' progress.
"On the heels of 'Career and Technology Centers Month' in Pennsylvania, this event will be a great opportunity for students to see the real-life application of their hard work," Rozzi said. "I look forward to attending the event and seeing the parts that will soon be orbiting our planet."
The space station has orbited the Earth more than 57,000 times since it was launched in 2000.
