It's been a winter of records when it comes to low temperatures in Berks County.
Less than a week beyond the coldest February on record, the thermometer plummeted to two degrees early Friday morning, breaking the previous record of seven, which was set on March 6, 1978.
And Friday may be the eve of another record low temperature, according to National Weather Service forecasters, who said there's a good chance Saturday's record low of 10 degrees in Berks County, set in 1989, may fall.
The forecast low is eight degrees.
The county's official temperature is recorded at Reading Regional Airport in Bern Township.
Meanwhile, the digging out continues following Berks County's biggest snowstorm of the season.
