Good evening, I'm Rob Vaughn.>> wendy davis: And I'm Wendy Davis. a dairy farm in Allen Township goes up in flames....the call came in earlier this evening.. and the scene. WFMZ's Keleigh Gibbs is live on Old Carriage Road where the barn is located...Keleigh.>> Wendy i was told the call came in around 5:30 this evening...and since then crews have been hard at work in these cold temperatures putting out the flames. 21:32:45"On report we had reports that there was about 40 cows inside the building....we notified five additional companies right off of the bat.">>REPORTEROnce crews arrived Allen Township Fire Chief Nick Lalik said 15 tankers came in...and put water on the flames immediately.21:33:03"We got the cows out safe and sound they are in another barn resting.">>REPORTERChief Lalik also says there were no other injuries to victims or firefighters...the fire was out in about an hour and a half. The damage mainly took place in the area of the barn where the cows are milked.... 21:33:44"Probably about a 150 by 60 structure.">>REPORTE .. the rest of the barn was saved.Some neighbors in the area witnessed the scene. 20:54:08"There were tons of fire engines all around here and the flames scared me because right from my back door i could see them shooting up."21:02:10"We ran out her real quick to see which way the wind was blowing because if it was blowing this way i was leaving town."21:03:56 Judy Weedling, Allen Township "i was hoping that the animals all got out and nobody got hurt...you can replace that building.">>REPORTERAfter the fire was fully contained crews continue to monitor the scene. .21:34:46"All of the guys on scene did an excellent job tonight, we got the fire out pretty quickly and we saved the farmers animals here and he should be continuing on in a couple days here.">> The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
