Wilson WL excited for semifinal showdown with Pine-Richland

14-0 and a District 3 championship at the quad-A level. Not bad for a team that lost its entire starting offense and only returned four defensive starters. Wilson has once again proved the strength and depth of its program this year. Next up, unbeaten Pine-Richland on Saturday with a berth in the state finals at stake.

The Bulldogs will face one of their toughest tests of the season Saturday, perhaps their toughest since week 1 against Governor Mifflin.

The Rams boast a number of Division I athletes on the offensive side of the ball, one of the strongest offenses in the state.

But Wilson has been a gritty, blue-collared team all year. The wins haven't been pretty all the time, but they've won with defense and timely offense. A winning formula in the postseason.

This Bulldog team did not enter the year with sky-high expectations, given what the team lost to graduation. But Doug Dahms and his staff have once again produced a winner and a team that plays with a tremendous amount of "heart."

Kick-off is set for 1:00 in Altoona on Saturday.

Interviewed - Doug Dahms, Senior Connor Howell, Senior Chris Zerbe.

Story written and produced by Dan Moscaritolo.
