A family in Berks County tries to put on a brave face this Christmas after most of their presents were stolen from a locked shed.
It looked like Santa Claus missed the Jacobs' house in Robesonia. There were only a few presents under the tree this year after most of them were snatched from their back yard.
"We're trying not to let it ruin our Christmas, but it's still not as cheerful as other years," said 16-year-old Billy Jacobs.
The family was at Christmas mass Wednesday night. When they came home, Billy's dad went to bring in his kids' gifts that he was hiding in the shed, but the gifts were gone along with his brand new snow blower and tools.
"If somebody is going to take something out of my yard in the middle of June that happens, but Christmas Eve, that's a rough one...that's a rough pill to swallow," said Billy Jacobs, who felt bad for his son and daughter.
The theft happened in the 100 block of East Penn Avenue in the borough.
It's already been a trying year for this family. BIlly's wife has been undergoing treatment for lung cancer. She was diagnosed with the aggressive disease in October.
"Everybody finally just started to get over the cancer scare and suddenly this happened and set everything back a few steps," said young Billy.
Now, thanks to some Grinch, young Billy will never see his meat smoker, and his sister will not be able to play her brand new keyboard.
They tried not to let it ruin their holiday, but dad had some tough words for the culprit.
"Wow - get a job!" said Jacobs. "I worked for them there's no reason anybody else can't work for them."
According to Western Berks Regional Police, a lock was destroyed on another shed in the neighborhood, but nothing was taken.
Billy and his wife said they're not looking for sympathy, they just want their neighbors to be on the lookout.
