Top News : Snow making kicks off at Blue Mountain

The cold weather is welcome news for ski resorts in our area.



At Blue Mountain Ski Area in Carbon County, snow making cannons kicked on Friday evening and stayed on all night into Saturday.



Officials at Blue Mountain say six new pumps that were recently installed are churning out huge amounts of snow.



"It is probably our earliest snow making effort in our history at Blue Mountain and Little Gap Ski area. With the cold temperatures that are forecast next week, we are anticipating opening Black Friday, November 28th," general manager Jim Dailey said.



This would be the earliest opening date ever for Blue Mountain Ski Area.
