People who live in Berks County are on edge after a rash of robberies in the area.
No one was hurt, but police believe the same suspect or suspects could be behind the break-ins.
Police say all three burglaries appear to be related because they all happened within the same time frame, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. yesterday, and similar items were stolen from all three homes.
And now residents living nearby tell 69 News they are concerned about their own safety.
Darlene Staudt lives two doors down from one of the burglaries happening in Tilden Township yesterday.
"It's kind of scary. That's just too close. It is a quiet neighborhood."
Police say the suspect or suspects pried open the lock on the front door of a home in the 300 block of Academy Road and then rummaged through the bedroom closets and dresser drawer, eventually stealing the victim's wallet and some jewelry.
Then in Hamburg, authorities say the suspect or suspects kicked open the front door and then again went through the bedroom closet and dresser drawers. The homeowners' jewelry was stolen from the top of the dresser along with a 12 gauge shotgun and a box of ammunition from the closet.
"That is really scary because the handguns and shotguns get into the wrong hands and people use it for what they shouldn't be used for," Staudt said.
Then in Perry Township, the suspect or suspects broke in to the side door and stole large amounts of jewelry from the bedroom and carried it away in a pillowcase
"We will probably be a little more cautious and a little more observant about what is going on around us," Staudt said.
Police are unsure of the total value of the stolen goods at this time.
If you have any information, you are asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police.
