Top News : PPL Montana sells its hydroelectric plants for $890M

PPL's electric generating company in Montana has sold its hydroelectric plants, company officials said Tuesday.

PPL Montana, based in Billings, sold 11 hydroelectric power plants to NorthWestern Energy.

The sale includes 11 hydroelectric power plants with a total generating capacity of more than 630 megawatts, and the Hebgen Lake reservoir.

PPL Montana also operates two coal-fired plants for nearly 2,250 megawatts of capactiy, which were not included in the sale.
