Pair of accidents a few miles apart on Interstate 78 in Berks

Emergency crews are on the scene of a pair of accidents on Interstate 78 in Berks County.


Both crashes happened within minutes of each and just a few miles apart.


The first, involving a military vehicle on its roof, was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Friday in the westbound lanes of I-78 at milepost 14.5 in Bethel Township.


At least two people have been injured in that crash.


The second accident, reportedly involving another vehicle on its roof, happened in the eastbound lanes at milepost 18.5 in Upper Tulpehocken Township, according to emergency dispatchers.


Officials have not yet reported on the injuries involved, but at least one ambulance has responded to the scene.
