Man sought in robbery of bank in Pottstown

Police are working to find the man who robbed a bank in Montgomery County on Wednesday.


The holdup happened around 2 p.m. at the PNC Bank at High and Wilson streets in Pottstown.


A K-9 officer and his four-legged partner from Spring Township, Berks County, were on a routine training mission in nearby North Coventry Township, Chester County, at the time of the robbery.


They joined in a brief foot pursuit of the robber, but his scent was lost a few blocks away from the bank, police said.


Police have not provided a description of the robber or said how much money he got away with.
