Death of 70-year-old Bronx man ruled accidental

Friday's death of a New York City man in an Allentown garage has been ruled accidental by Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim.


Seventy-year-old Alston Van Putten, Sr., of the Bronx died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.


Allentown police report Putten's son was pulling a car into the garage at 1202 Allen St. about 1 p.m. Friday when he struck his father, who was pinned under the vehicle.
