Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli met with Pennsylvania State Police on Monday about the investigation into the Friday afternoon disappearance of Jessica Padgett in Northampton.

The district attorney requested the meeting to receive the most up-to-date information about the case and to determine whether additional resources are needed.

"I am deeply concerned about what happened to this woman and I want to be sure that everything is being done to find her, hopefully unharmed in any way," Morganelli said in a statement.

Family members are desperately looking for answers into the disappearance of Padgett, 33, of Whitehall Township, Lehigh County.

"Please, if you have her or know about her whereabouts, please give her back," said Kristi Davis, Padgett's sister.

Davis said she last heard from her sister around 1 p.m. Friday. That is when police said Padgett left her job at Duck, Duck Goose Childcare on Canal Street in Northampton for a lunch break.

Her sister said she was going to drive to her mother's house around five miles away to send a fax. She never returned to work.

Police found her white Suburu Outback at Dollar General, about a mile away from her job.

"This was broad daylight," said Jim Wilkins, who lives next door to Padgett. "Someone needs to know where she is."

Family members suspect foul play. They said Padgett married her boyfriend of eight years in September. She is a mother to two children and one stepchild.

"She loves her children, works at daycare and would never leave children, especially her own.," said Wilkins.

Now, the tight-knit community is pulling together, doing everything it can to bring Padgett home.

"We have been searching high and low and putting out flyers," said Wilkins.

"Jess, if you are out there, we are always going to keep searching for you," said family friend Robert Minnich.

Community members said search efforts have not led to any new information.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police at 610-861-2026.
