The snow came down hard for a good part of the day on Sunday, creating difficult and dangerous conditions on the roads. Cars were slipping and sliding on the snow covered pavement.
While PennDOT trucks were out salting working to prevent collisions, there was a PennDOT truck involved in an accident on Lower Macungie Road in Allentown.
No one was hurt. A truck came to tow the vehicle.
Due to to the rough road conditions, Penn Dot hasreduced speed limits to 45 miles per hour on major roadways including Interstate 76, Routes 202, and 309.
It isn't only us here in Pennsylvania who are experiencing this latest burst of winter weather. In the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina, the slick roads caused a massive pile-up involving at least 12 cars.
In St. Louis Missouri, a car spun out of control on the slippery road.
Then in Ft. Worth. Texas, winter weather turned the highway into a slip and slide, even SUV's with 4 wheel drive had trouble firmly gripping the slick pavement.
If you are venturing out on the roads, be careful. Black ice is expected to form.
