Police arrested two people Sunday for possessing heroin in Carbon County.
The traffic stop was part of a narcotics investigation by members of the Carbon County Drug Task Force.
Police found the two people in the car with 70 bags of heroin.
Robert Fox of Quakertown, formerly of Palmerton) and Cynthia Hippenstiel of Ranshaw (formerly of Lehighton) were arrested.
Fox was charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and related offenses.
He was taken to the Carbon County Prison in lieu of $10,000.
Hippenstiel was charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and related offenses.
She was also charged for a retail theft that took place at the Mahoning Township Walmart on Friday.
Bail was set for her at $26,000. She was taken to the Carbon County Prison after being unable to post bail.
