Weis Markets' newest beer café is now open for business in Berks County.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board gave final approval Tuesday for the company to open the café at its store in the 1100 block of West Wyomissing Boulevard in Spring Township.

The 30-seat café sells more than 600 varieties of beer, including a selection of local craft brews, for both on-premise drinking and take-out. It's open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until midnight and on Sunday from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m.

This is the 27th beer café Weis has opened company-wide and the second in Berks County. The other is located within the company's other Spring Township store in the Broadcasting Square shopping center.

Weis also recently received PLCB approval to open a beer café within its remodeled store in Ephrata, Lancaster County.

Weis has not announced plans for beer cafés at its four other stores in Berks County.
