Stocking up before the storm is easier said than done for some Easton residents.
There's no major grocery store in the downtown or West Ward.
With the roads still passable in Easton, even if some wanted to go to the store, they lack the transportation.
That means planning early before the storm or heading to a corner store.
Some people were still getting last minute items Monday before the storm hit Easton.
"To me the storms only last a day or two," said one man at C-Town Market in Easton. "It's not that big of deal to me."
For others living downtown or in the west ward, getting to a store to get food is a big deal.
"I usually go out to Walmart and I catch the bus," said downtown resident Ashley Brown. "Usually about 45 minutes on the bus."
Brown knows going 45 minutes for a can of cat food and cream for her coffee is a little much.
So she and many others shop where they can at local convenience stores.
"A lot of people don't have cars and don't travel to the local grocery store and they decide to come here to the local Wawa," said Wawa manager, Jose Gonzalez. "We're always open. They always know it's going to be reliable to come in an get eggs, butter bacon or bread."
Easton mayor Sal Panto hopes a grocery store may come in soon.
"There is definitely a need and if I wasn't mayor, maybe I would think about opening up another store somewhere in downtown or the west ward," said Panto.
There is talk about bringing in a store to 7th and Northampton.
The closest grocery store -- C-Town market -- is about three miles away.
They will pick up customers spending $50 or more.
