River Bridge Road reopens in Berks

Drivers through one Berks County community can resume their old driving route now that a bridge project is done.


River Bridge Road in Amity Township is finally open after being closed for more than a year.



PennDOT closed the road in May of last year to repair two structurally deficient bridges.


Crews replaced the bridge over the Thun Trail and made it easier to access the trail from the road.


They also rehabilitated the bridge that goes over the Schuylkill River.
