A former community theatre director from Berks County is heading to trial after being charged with sexually assaulting two boys.
Mark Drey waived two preliminary hearings Monday.
Authorities say he sexually assaulted a boy involved with the Alpha Omega Players in Birdsboro in 2012.
Drey, 55, of Exeter Township, is accused of inappropriately touching and 'sexting' with the teen, who was a performer in one of the youth productions at Alpha/Omega Playhouse.
According to court documents, Drey admitted to sexually touching the victim on one occasion and told detectives that the victim was "infatuated with him and had a crush on him."
Prosecutors filed additional charges after a second 14-year-old boy came forward claiming to have had sexual conversations with Drey over Facebook in 2012.
