Allentown woman arrested for breaking baby's bones

A 23-year-old Allentown woman has been arrested after breaking the leg and ribs of a two-month-old boy.

Ashley Schweitzer of the 2000 block of Vine Street has been charged with endangering the welfare of children.

Allentown police were contacted about the possibility of abuse on Dec. 22 and arrested the woman Friday.

She injured the baby by punching and squeezing him, as well as throwing him down in his crib, according to court documents.

Schweitzer admitted to police that she caused causing the injuries during three or four incidents over a month-long period.

Court documents do not reveal the woman's relationship to the baby.
