Part of a commercial building's facade came tumbling down onto a sidewalk in Lehigh County Sunday afternoon.
Officials on scene say it happened around 1:00 p.m. in front of a vacant store on South 4th Street in Emmaus.
We're told no one was injured in the collapse.
There's no word yet on whether there is any structural damage to the building, which officials say includes upstairs apartments.
A bankruptcy court judge will consider--yet again--the proposed sale of Atlantic City's former Revel Casino hotel to a Florida developer.
But the $82 million deal has loopholes that could let owner Revel AC or buyer Glenn Straub to back out before it is due to close March 31.
The latest sale agreement between Revel and Straub's Polo North Country Club contains a "fiduciary out.''
It is language that gives Revel the right to scrap the Straub deal for a higher offer before the deal closes.
That is crucially important this week with a new potential purchaser in the picture. Los Angeles developer Izek Shomof is planning a bid after touring the property last week.
The judge is due to consider the sale again Thursday.
The $3 billion ball is in the Republicans' court.
Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf's first budget proposal has been panned by Republicans who control both chambers.
That plan would raise taxes on sales, income and natural gas drilling to balance the budget and finance more than $4 billion in new education funding and aid to school districts to cut property taxes.
Republicans will be hard-pressed the next couple of months to write a plan to erase a $2 billion projected deficit and pay for an additional $1 billion-plus in rising costs.
That doesn't include providing more money to school districts, which Wolf is demanding.
Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati says Republicans aren't planning to vote for a tax increase, but he won't yet say how Republicans will find the money.
