The cold temperatures have hit Berks County hard, making it difficult to do much of anything outside. That is why many people flocked inside to beat the frigid weather.
"I hate the cold weather, love the sun. So anything I can do to make me feel like I am warm again and get that warm sunshine weather," said Jen Boyer, a swimmer.
Jen Boyer hit the pool at Body Zone in Spring Township. It was her first time there and she says it was a great escape from the cold temperatures outside.
"I like it. The water is warm and it feels good," said Boyer.
Others were taking advantage of the indoor track.
"Last couple of days it has been pretty cold outside. You could wear a fleece and be ok with it. But today it feels 20 degrees colder all of a sudden," said Jake Leed, a runner.
Jake Leed told us he loves running outside, but the bitter cold is making it much more difficult.
"I prefer outside if it is warm enough to be able to run. But absolutely not right now. Usually inside is far better," said Leed.
And some took to the indoor soccer field. It was Andrew Neider's daughter's first time playing inside, something her dad thinks is a great idea.
"With the winter time, it gets cold, it gets dark out. The kids are not as active. I think it is a good idea that they stay active all year round," said Andrew Neider, a parent.
Unfortunately it is only going to continue getting colder throughout the week. So if you must be outside wear layers and try and limit your time outdoors.

Bethlehem Township wants to have its voting district map redrawn in time for the next election.
Township commissioners on Monday agreed to advertise an ordinance that will rework the boundaries of the community's four wards in order to make their populations more evenly distributed.
The current boundaries show the township's first ward with 5,100 people, 5,200 in the second ward, 6,500 in the third ward and 6,800 in the fourth.
Under federal law, a municipality can't have more than a 10 percent deviation in population between wards, said township solicitor James Broughal.
So the township staff began looking at ways to fix the problem, and on Monday presented commissioners with a new map.
"We tried to make as few changes as possible, and we really wanted to keep the feel of the districts the same," said Melissa Shafer, township manager.
To that end, they're proposing a switch that will have Ward 2 expand into Ward 3, and parts of Wards 1 and 3 expand into Ward 4.
It will leave all four wards with roughly 5,900 people.
Shafer said the township will work with Northampton County to notify voters of the changes, which will be reflected on new community maps.
The new district boundaries should also be available on the township website by the end of the week, she said.
The basketball races in the Colonial League are really good so far this season. They are all tight it seems, including the west division on the girls side where there are three teams with only one loss so far this season. Southern Lehigh is one of those teams, and they face Palmerton tomorrow, one of the other 1-loss teams in that division. It's a huge game for both with league play at about the halfway point. For the Spartans, winning tomorrow and staying in a first place tie means stopping the shooters of Palmerton who can score points in bunches.
The EPC basketball race should really start heating up now. We had some big games this weekend, many of which will play a role in who gets into the new bigger league tournament and who doesn't. This week ahead, we have plenty more including tomorrow night when the Allen boys face Emmaus. Allen's boys have played some really tight games so far this season, but they've found themselves on the winning side more often than not, and more often than any other team in their division of the epc. The Canaries currently hold a small division lead, and they may have to win tomorrow night to maintain that lead. And getting a win won't be easy against an Emmaus team that needs a win too.
