Toomey calls on Senate to protect kids in classrooms

U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), in a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, called on the Senate to pass his bipartisan , Protecting Students From Sexual and Violent Predators.


Toomey also said the Senate should prevent "passing the trash" - the practice of a school helping a known child predator obtain a new job in a different school district.


Toomey intends to offer his legislation as an amendment during this week's debate on Senate Bill 178, the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015.
