Police: Man involved in standoff is person of interest in Easton homicide

A man whose standoff with police forced the lockdown of an Easton elementary school Wednesday may have ties to a homicide at a local hotel.


Easton Police Lt. Matthew Gerould said 25-year-old Jeffrey Knoble is considered a person of interest in the shooting death of a local man found Wednesday at the Quality Inn at South 3rd Street and Larry Holmes Drive.


Police said they had been looking for Knoble throughout the day.


That search ended Wednesday afternoon at his mother's house.


Knoble walked out of 1318 Liberty Street in Easton with his hands up and a few obscene gestures for news cameras.'


Gerould said police are not looking for any suspects at this time.
